Confirmation: Adults (19 years and older)

Adult Confirmation

In the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Adult Confirmation is offered by our Bishops twice a year, on or near Pentecost Sunday, and normally approximately the second Sunday in January.

As needed, we offer Adult Confirmation Preparation twice a year to our parishioners: once in the late summer through the Fall with Confirmation in January, and the other from late January/early February through the Spring with Confirmation at Pentecost.

The next process begins in August 2022 for Confirmation in January 2023.
Requirements to begin Adult Confirmation Preparation
- Baptized Catholic (A currently issued Baptism Certificate must accompany the Request for Interview Form) It will be verified before proceeding.
- Must have received First Eucharist and is actively participating in Mass regularly at Christ the Good Shepherd, specifically on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation.
- No canonical impediments to receiving the Sacraments, including, if married, must be married in the Church.
- Must have graduated from High School.
- Must have personal visit/interview prior to the beginning of preparation sessions.
To arrange and Interview for Adult Confirmation Preparation:
- Fill out the Adult Confirmation Preparation Interview Request Form.
- Email the completed form and a copy of your currently issued Baptism Certificate to Dcn. Stacy Millsap. Place “Adult Confirmation” in the subject line.
