ACTS Retreats
An ACTS retreat is a three-day, three-night Catholic lay retreat presented by fellow parishioners. The retreat begins on a Thursday evening as retreatants gather at the sponsoring parish for a short send-off ceremony. They are then transported to a retreat facility for the rest of the weekend. The retreat ends Sunday as the retreatants return to the sponsoring parish for a welcome Mass celebrated with the parish community followed by a simple reception.
Talks and activities during the retreat focus on Adoration, Community, Theology and Service, from which the ACTS program acronym is derived. Holy Scripture and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church are the guides for the retreats. The retreat takes on the traditions and atmosphere of the parish community sponsoring it. The retreat facilitates the attainment of a new or deeper relationship with the Lord.

A ministry of lay men who meet regularly for prayer and serve their parish community. We seek personal and family holiness. We take St. Joseph as our model of husband and father. We follow his teachings, in fidelity and obedience to God the Father. We put our faith into action in our families, parish community, and society at large. We actively participate in coordinating the Men's Rosary-Houston, along with members from various parishes.

Funeral Reception MinistryAfter a funeral, upon request, volunteers support the family and friends by serving light bites and beverages in one of the venues on the Christ the Good Shepherd campus. Volunteers are available to set up your reception, serve food donated by volunteers or catered by your catering service and clean up the venue.

Healing Ministry TrainingDo you desire to see Jesus heal broken bodies and lives through your prayers? In this 8-week Level One Healing Ministry Training Course, we will pursue a deeper relationship with Father, Son and Holy Spirit and to understand and apply the teachings of Jesus in the Gospels regarding healing prayer.
This 8-week course will train people who are seeking training and empowerment for effective healing ministry in the Name of Jesus Christ.

We are looking for currently single mothers and women have previously been single mothers. We can financially sponsor women who want to receive the upcoming training. Please invite women who may feel called to this important mission.
